Membership is open to individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in Hartford County, Connecticut, including all businesses. Originally chartered in 1951 as Trumbull Electric Employees Federal Credit Union, it later became GE Assemblies & Devices Employees Federal Credit Union. In 1985, the charter expanded to serve companies of The Plainville and Berlin Chamber of Commerce, and municipal employees in those communities.
