    Who can join CONSUMERS

    Anyone can join Consumers Credit Union by becoming a member of the Consumers Cooperative Association (CCA) with a one-time $5 fee, which is often reimbursed by the credit union. Membership also requires maintaining a minimum $5 deposit in a Membership Share/Savings Account. Minors aged 13-17 can join with a valid ID, Social Security card, and a parent/legal guardian as a joint account holder, while those 12 and younger need a Social Security Number and a parent/legal guardian as a joint account holder. Non-U.S. citizens can join with specific identification documents, potentially including a Mexican Matricula Consular ID and ITIN letter or a U.S. Permanent Alien Resident card and Social Security card.

    Open membership. Anyone in the U.S. can join — no employer, geographic or association requirement.
